☀️ A Family Week Safety Update

We’re just a little over two weeks away from our annual gathering in Provincetown, and we can’t wait to celebrate in community with all of you.

As we prepare to come together in queer joy, we also want to acknowledge that two members of our LGBTQ+ community in Provincetown were recently impacted by acts of hate. These moments are reminders of why Family Week matters so deeply and we want you to know that both Family Equality and local leaders are taking this seriously.

The Provincetown Police Department responded swiftly and continues to prioritize the safety of our community.  We’re actively working with Provincetown officials and community partners to ensure a safe, affirming, and celebratory experience for everyone attending Family Week. A Community Safety Forum was held on Tuesday, July 8 at Town Hall to share updates and tips for staying informed. You can watch the recording here.

Hate has no home in Provincetown and it has no place at Family Week. This is, and always will be, a space for joy, connection, and community care.
